Me too.  Saturday night will be my first challenge.
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-02 9:45 AM
Mine too. I'm making a bunch of goodies and trying to figure out an acceptable amount to enjoy without racking up a bunch of points. I mean, I'm going to enjoy some of it. And of course that doesn't count the beer and Maker's Mark apple cider.....
Parent - - By adamswims (Gone Now Adam! You pick what you want.) Date 2011-12-02 11:11 AM
does ice cream count as festive? :wtf:
Parent - - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-02 12:04 PM
Is it candy cane ice cream or pumpkin?
Parent - By adamswims (Gone Now Adam! You pick what you want.) Date 2011-12-02 12:29 PM
no
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-03 9:28 AM
Although it wasn't Christmas related thus I'm not awarding myself points I had salad with salmon last night instead of pasta.  Good job DD :D
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-03 10:24 AM
Excellent.

I just managed to make pretzel/hershey kisses/xmas m&m treats without tasting anything. I had Em test one. Certainly that counts for a point?

Tonight is going to be a hot mess of negative points.:laugh: Actually we don't deduct points whenever we eat something, only when it translates into pounds right? I'm going to splurge tonight, but try not to go overboard.
Parent - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-03 11:06 AM
No only deducting if you gain weight -- so one night certainly isn't going to kill you.

I think you should get a point for not tasting those treats.
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-04 9:36 AM
I'm calling last night's party a success. I enjoyed the food I made but didn't go crazy overboard, and somewhat () limited my beer intake.....and still had one hell of a time.

I'm sitting at +1 right now.

-3, I gained .5 lb. I blame it on the Archway Holiday Gingerbread Men (those 3 bags in cupboard won't keep forever) and Panera.
Parent - - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-09 9:34 AM
+1 I didn't eat the Panera treats yesterday. I've been limiting myself to just 1 or 2 gingerbread cookies instead of the handful I was eating last week.
Parent - - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-11 7:46 AM
+5 I lost weight.
Parent - - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-11 9:46 AM
Congrats!  :-)
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-20 7:10 AM
+5 lost again
Parent - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-05 11:23 AM
I did well all weekend except for last night which was not holiday related so I'm calling it all a wash.
Parent - - By brneydrnnr (barney cougar) [us] Date 2011-12-06 8:11 AM
I think I get one point because a coworker brought donuts yesterday morning and I didn't touch them
and there were blueberry cake ones!
Parent - - By brneydrnnr (barney cougar) [us] Date 2011-12-09 8:22 AM
+5 points - lost a pound this last week!
puts me at 6 points total
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-09 9:34 AM
Nicely done.
Parent - - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-06 2:51 PM
I have weight watchers tonight, so I'll see how I did for my first week on maintenance.  I think it will be good results.
Parent - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-06 8:01 PM
+5....lost 1.4 pounds on my first week in maintenance.  I will need to eat a little more this week.  I don't mind if I lose a little more (maybe 5-10 pounds) but I'd like to slow it down a bit.
Parent - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-06 3:41 PM
-2

Last night was an epic fail and today's aftermath is similarly a fail.
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-07 8:26 AM
I'm still at +1. I didn't have the best day yesterday but I'm back on track this morning. My morning of truth (weigh-in day) is Friday.
Parent - By brneydrnnr (barney cougar) [us] Date 2011-12-07 8:43 AM
I weigh on Fridays too - which is sort of a double-edged sword. If I like the number on the scale, I tend to splurge a bit over the weekend
and then come Monday - I'm back to square one.  dammit!
Parent - - By adamswims (Gone Now Adam! You pick what you want.) Date 2011-12-07 8:36 AM
i think i'm at a zero.  i haven't weighed myself though.
Parent - - By adamswims (Gone Now Adam! You pick what you want.) Date 2011-12-08 7:15 AM
weighed myself....-3 :cry::cry::cry:
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-09 8:27 AM
We'll do better next week....start right now!

Holy cow, that's fantastic!! To lose weight during the holiday season is crazy. Yay, us!

Let's go celebrate with some festive ice cream and cake.:grin:

I was pretty good at last night's Christmas party and haven't gained (but haven't lost) so I think I am +3 and +1 so a net of +2!
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-09 8:26 AM
Well damn I gained. I guess I'm not surprised.:laugh: I'm at -2. Next week will be better!
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-09 8:28 AM
Truthfully, -2 isn't so bad all things considered.  For me next week will be partially better but the worst parties are yet to come.
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-09 10:11 AM
yep, worst parties yet to come over here as well. Does tailgating count as a holiday party?:blush: I guess not, but any gained weight would suck ass and give me more negative points. Next Friday is a double whammy - the annual Holidive (Christmas pub crawl) starts at noon, followed by the roller derby's end of year party that evening. I really just need December to be over with as soon as possible.
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-13 9:43 AM
I am doing great this week.  Of course, my temptations are minimal.  This weekend (Thurs, Fri and Sat) will be train wrecks, no question.   I will weigh Thursday though since I don't have access to a scale on Friday (travelling).
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-13 10:15 AM
I'm at -1, gained a point yesterday when I said a big fat NO to some Christmas goodies a client sent. The real moment of truth will be Friday morning when I weigh in, hopefully I can gain some points. Friday starting at noon (:laugh:) until the wee hours of Saturday morning should be one big hot mess, which I'll most probably spend all next week making up for.

Good luck!
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-13 10:18 AM
But it's all about mitigation here -- not total elimination :p
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-14 8:05 AM
Total elimination would be no fun at all.
Parent - - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-13 5:21 PM
+5, +10 total.  Lost 0.2 this week.  More in line with what I would like to be doing right now.  My training group starts back up on Saturday, and I'm really looking forward to it.  Time to get back to some consistent running (maybe run/walking for a bit).
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-14 8:05 AM
Good job. Glad to hear you are back in action.
Parent - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-20 8:01 PM
-2, +8 total....gained 0.2 pounds this week (-3), did stick to just one beer at party on Sunday (+1).
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-15 8:01 AM
I get +5 I am actually down in weight!  GOOOOO ME!!!!!
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-15 9:11 AM
Yay!!!! I'm hoping for the same result tomorrow - I jumped on the scale this morning and it's lookin' good!
Parent - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-15 11:51 AM
Nice!  :-)
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-20 7:08 AM
Yay!
Parent - - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-16 8:45 AM
+4, woot woot! I was at -1 but lost weight this week. The weekend is going to be a challenge but I'm going to do my best to keep things under control.
Parent - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-17 3:27 PM
Good work!
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-18 4:39 PM
+5, added 1 point for only having 1 small plate and 1 dessert at our family's Christmas party. I could technically give myself another point for not having more than 2 drinks, but this is a zero alcohol party so it wasn't like I had a choice.
Parent - By Ursel13 Date 2011-12-20 7:08 AM
Nice going, only one more week to go.
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-23 8:23 AM
Well dang. I gained a lousy half pound.:cry: So that's -3, for a standing total of +2. Not bad, I've really enjoyed this challenge. It's definitely kept me in check.
Parent - - By dangerousdan (bear terrorist) [us] Date 2011-12-28 11:39 AM
I will weigh myself Friday to see about weight gain but I'm fairly sure there's no chance I won't end with negative points.  I did well until this last week which was an unmitigated disaster devoid of exercise and filled with cookies and wine.  I did enjoy it and I don't think it's anything that can't be quickly undone so that's not so bad hopefully...  today I am waiting to eat until I feel actual hunger... which may not be at all.  My middle is hideously jolly right now...
Parent - By sunshine (bisexual philanderess) [us] Date 2011-12-28 10:29 PM
Exactly, and I mean EXACTLY...what she said.:cry:
Parent - By JimGo1 Date 2011-12-28 7:04 PM
Ack my jeans are kinda tight.  They must have just come out of the dryer :wtf:

Seriously need to get back on the bandwagon but after New Years
Parent - By run4pancakes [us] Date 2011-12-28 10:48 PM
Final tally: +5.....gained 2 lbs this week.  No worries though, had a stomach virus last night and today and lost 2.5 pounds. So, all in all, I very much enjoyed the couple of occasions I chose to enjoy and my total holiday weight gain (Halloween to New Years) was 2.2 pounds.  I'm still a good 5 lbs under my WW goal weight.

Plan to eat my normal food tomorrow as long as I can tolerate it.  Gluttony season has passed for me as we have no NYE parties, etc.  I survived! :-)
