Despite the fact the Toronto Maple Leafs are currently sitting in a playoff spot, their captain Dion Phaneuf isnt getting much love from his peers around the league. James Harrison Jersey . Sports Illustrated polled 161 NHL players asking them to name the most overrated player in the league and Phaneuf topped the list. Joining Phaneuf were Alex Ovechkin (second), Scott Gomez (third), Roberto Luongo (fourth) and Dany Heatley (fifth). Phaneuf wasnt the only Leaf to be named to the unflattering list, as teammate Mike Komisarek came in 10th. "Yes, players dumb enough to participate in polls designed to crap on fellow NHLPA members are not very bright," Leafs general manager Brian Burke told the Toronto Star. "I am thrilled to have both players on my team. "And by the way? Anyone who wants to tell Dion that in person should fly to Ottawa in about two weeks," Burke added. Ottawa is the site of this years NHL All-Star game where Phaneuf will appear after being one of six players voted in by the fans. Phaneuf is sixth among defencemen in total goals and points this year, with seven goals and 28 points points on the season and his point totals makes him the third highest scoring Leaf behind Phil Kessel and Joffrey Lupul. The news is nothing new for Phaneuf, who was voted the most overrated by a similar Sports Illustrated poll in 2010. "A very simple answer for an anonymous poll," said Leafs assistant GM Dave Poulin, "is that people tend to vote for players they dont like to play against." Rounding out the top 10 in the Sports Illustrated poll were Ilya Kovalchuk (sixth), Vincent Lecavalier (seventh), Jay Bouwmeester (eighth), Ryan Kesler (ninth) and Komisarek. In addition to Bouwmeester, the Calgary Flames also had Jarome Iginla and Olli Jokinen on the list at 12th and 14th, respectively.  Andy Dalton Jersey . "I am extremely excited to be back for another year and looking forward to turning things around," said Tavares. "We had an off year last season, but that will change in 2013. Darrelle Revis Jersey . You can watch the game live on TSN Canadiens at 7:30pm et/8:30pm at and listen in on TSN Radio 990 at TSN.ca/Montreal. Montreal acquired Geoffrion from the Nashville Predators last week in a trade for veteran defenceman Hal Gill. Denarius Moore Jersey . Its been a while since the Los Angeles Kings have set the bar that high. Just making the playoffs wont be enough this season for the Kings and Canucks, who both open up their 2010-11 campaigns this evening at Rogers Arena. Ryan Mathews Jersey . Any victory is welcome for the defending NBA champs. Dirk Nowitzki scored 27 points and the Mavericks rallied from 14 points down in the second quarter to beat the Charlotte Bobcats 101-96 on Thursday night. Mark Sanchez Jersey . It was the first time the slugger really didnt know what to do. Already with two homers in the first game back since a four-homer performance on the road earlier this week, Hamilton no longer could suppress a smile. There has been quite a bit of upheaval on the Florida Panthers roster, which does give them some sleeper value selections, but the Panthers most definitely lack elite fantasy prospects. Even goaltender Tomas Vokoun, who puts up a first-rate save percentage (.925 over the last two years combined), has won only 49 games in the last two seasons because of his limited supporting cast. Hes a good No. 2 goaltender for fantasy, but risky as the starter. Working out from the net, the Panthers do have a couple of decent defencemen. Bryan McCabe isnt an offensive force the way he was at his peak, but last years 43 points tied him for 17th among defencemen. Dennis Wideman endured a difficult season in Boston, a veritable collapse from his career year in 2008-2009, but rebounded to lead the Bruins in playoff scoring. Wideman should see lots of ice time, so there will be opportunities to be productive, yet also opportunities to fall on the minus side of the plus-minus ledger if things arent going well. The Panthers do have some wingers with good upside. Left winger David Booth could be Floridas most dangerous offensive threat, but concussions ruined his 2009-2010 season, so there is an element of risk in selecting him. There arent a lot of potential 30-goal scorers on left wing, however, so Booth deserves fair consideration. Third-year winger Michael Frolik has a finishers flair as well, scoring 21 goals in each of his first two seasons but, given his talent, 30 isnt out of the question. Stephen Weiss is a sound, reliable two-way pivot who scored a career-high 28 goals last season and has put up at least 60 points in back-to-back years, but with a supporting cast tthat is longer on potential than proven producers, its difficult to expect more from Weiss. Brian Cushing Jersey. There is further potential from rookie winger Michael Grabner, or veterans Cory Stillman and Christopher Higgins could recapture some of their productive past, but they are selections for those in deep leagues only.
