Hello Jim and Karen. Started my day with a gentle 3 mile run at sunrise. I ran a lot more miles this week than I have this year. Being out of school for the summer gives me additional running time.
Not much going on today. Church this morning.
a great way to end the school year..with more miles!
Headed to my 5k. Depending on which thermometer you look at, it is between 83 and 89 degrees. Since I wilt in the sun, this will be just a jog today. Just need to remind myself that I'm only there to lend support to a young mother with cancer and it wouldn't be good form to push it and die at her event. That would remove the fun it is supposed to be.
wise advice. enjoy the heat.
The starter at the race said it was 88° with a Feels Like of 95°
Garmin: 30:39 - 9:29, 9:58, 10:01, 1:09 (3.12 miles)
Overall: 18 of 89
Male: 15 of 37
AG: 1 of 2 (55-59) Only in Barboursville, WV can you run in the 30's and win your age group.
3 minutes slower than the 5k last Monday, but the effort was about the same. I'm such a wimp. It actually worried me to run in that heat. After I stopped I drank a lot of water and poured a bottle of water over my head. I kept waiting to see if I was going to fall over or stand on my feet.
A win is a win! Congratulations!

You can only race with the ones that show up. Well done.
Happy Sunday. We let the firepit burn out way past midnight last night (approx 4 hours past my bedtime!) Lisa and Jacob got here at suppertime and brought friends. Kayacking, canoeing, floating, and a bit of beer drinking through the sunset hours made for a good day/evening.
I was first on the lake again this morning. Breakfast for 7 and then into town for lunch and antiquing. Kids are at the grocery store buying supper fixings....the perks of adult offspring. My finger are crossed that not only will they cook it, they will do the dishes!!
This is dnaff, signing off from the lake, covered in mosquito bites and not minding a bit.......
I am enjoying the lake pictures!

Thanks. Lisa has a couple good ones I still need to snag and post.

kids cooked us a wonderful supper, stacked the dishes, and hit the road. Yes, you read that right - I got stuck with the dishes again.
Because of the different time zone, Lee and I were still able to put the kayaks in at 8:30 and paddle 1/2 way around before dark. The firepit is doused, the chairs are stacked, the kayaks, canoe, and life jackets are stored. Pure Michigan. The sojourn to Illinois begins after coffee tomorrow.
Just returned from lunch with my siblings and familia! Fun times!
We are still receiving rain -- think it is supposed to rain through Wednesday. I shouldn't complain the HOTT summer will soon be here.
Enjoy your day!
that's what I say...rain and cool temps then onto the heat. til sept!
1.85 mile recovery run.
Bit of a busy day, but got to see the Phillies win. Didn't run until the evening. Trying to start getting back in the normal groove.
Back to work tomorrow after about 4.5 weeks out.
All is well.
