:shocker!:

Wow. I hope it goes well. Seems like maybe only upper 80's midweek and some rain/storm chances. Yes, I've been weather watching since I'll be running on Ohio this weekend as well.

I think we both ended up with warmer weather, and higher humidity, than we anticipated

Race: Mohican 100 miler

Location: Loudonville, Ohio (Mohican State Park)

Date: June 17,18

Goal: Just finish and get my WS qualifier and bump my odds way up for next year's lottery. Different perspective for me this year compared to last. I went for a fast time last year as I was in shape and felt strong. This year not so much. I have the endurance to finish assuming the weak parts of my body hold up. If I were to put down a time goal I'd say 60-90 minutes slower than last year would be good. So sub 27 maybe?

Best to you XT. I predict you will surprise yourself :hug:
Parent - - By Xtreme Taper Date 2017-06-12 10:21 AM
Thanks!

I just saw the orthopod and had 50cc of fluid drained from that pesky left knee. So maybe that will help this weekend and I will feel like a new man.

Good luck.  I need to get back there sometime.

Let me know when you decide to go back. Mohican is a 100 miler I want to do at some point & maybe you being there will be the final bit of motivation I need.

Race name / distance- Celtic Traverse

Location- Ireland

Date- June 18-June 25

Goals- Live the dream : pbbt:

This is a six day run across Ireland. Distances vary each day. The longest day is 30 miles and the shortest is 14. We will stay in three different towns--Wicklow- Ballyhoura-Sneem and run two routes from each place going across Ireland. A big part of the reason I signed up was because there have been so many losses in my life in the last couple of years and the whole "you only live once" rationalization. It usually takes me forever to sign up for stuff but I decided to go for it and have this experience. It is a very casual event and not a race in any sense. This company called Primal Challenges puts it on and I think there will be about 15 people from all over in the group. They are equipping us with gps and there is live tracking but I don't see why anyone would be interested in that. Except for the building anxiety over the travel and leaving my kitties for so long, I am looking forward to it.

IB, since I will be away, I wanted to wish you all the best at Western States!!! Can't wait to hear about your experience

This sounds really awesome! I am happy for you that you decided to go. I hope your body holds up and you don't have any problems with the terrain.

Thank you very much for the well wishes. It will probably take me a few days to write a report but you know there will be a long one to read at some point.
