Happy Flag Day!
Give us an update on your week and weekend plans! Has anyone heard from Deb?
Happy Flag day!
running with Josh today. Picking up Morgan. Walmart visit.
I have not heard from Deb.
Walmart - shopping and entertainment at the same time.
Swim today. Weekend, other than training and schlepping A to production rehearsals on Sat I have nothing. I emailed Deb earlier in the year after she updated her profile pic on FB and she did not respond. I know she said she felt like no one cared here or on FB so she has spent her time elsewhere. I get where she is coming from on that. She doesn't respond to her daughter or niece on FB either so she's really not there messing around the way people do.
Good morning all. I have a summer cold - my throat feels like it is full of broken glass.
I'm self medicating with iced coffee. See, there is ALWAYS a sliver lining.
I think I will skip tonight's run and heal up a bit. The humidity continues and maybe a storm pass thru about the time the run starts. A good one to miss I think.
We have a big party this weekend. My neighbor retired from 40 years of teaching this year and wanted no fanfare. His daughter thinks otherwise and has a surprise party planned for Saturday. It's his birthday so it ends up being a birthday/father's day/retirement party. And it also happens to be my Amy's birthday and Misha's as well. They've included our family as honorees. My job is cupcakes and also letting his daughter hide all the party paraphernalia in my garage. Hoping for the humidity to blow thru because it's an outdoor party.
that's nice. he does deserve some fun after 40 yrs.
feel better. Ive got my annual summer cold sore. Just in time for a graduation party.
On my way for a bike ride, about 10 miles.
2 miles yesterday of run/walk. Got to the 1 mile mark and realized that 3.1 plan just was not going to be done. So, turned around and headed home at a leisurely pace.
Planned rest day today. I'll spend the time instead trying to up my game on the bass.
nice work today. though the temp is down it sure feels yucky out there.
Yep - I almost always nail the rest day workout.
12.03 very sweaty miles this morning
oh the smell. nice work.
my neighbor now friend can't smell anything. it might be a match made in heaven.
give her my info...in case this first wife thing doesnt work out
Cindy can't smell much either. Says it's from working at a chemical company for 35 years.
I'm amazed at how many folks can't smell.
I think at first it may sound like a good thing but not really.
5 mile PW done and then 3 hours of coffee time!
Went into the office today. Didn't attempt to workout before or after.
Now out on the front porch with some tea, Kindle, and tablet. I have my tablet on to monitor sightings of satellites and the space station. There is a specific type of satellite that reflects the sunlight at just the right angle to be very bright for a few seconds. They're called Iridium Flares when it happens. I saw one tonight when the sky was still pretty bright. The sun has only set a few minutes earlier. It was pretty cool to see it that way.
Space station will make a pass in about 15 minutes.
Are you talking about this click here for article
? They were supposed to be doing it Tues but it got canceled and I heard they were going to do it last night but we had cloud cover and I don't know if they did it or not. Oh wait in re-reading your post it could be that. You said sunset.

The Iridium flares are nowhere near as cool as what that article is talking about. (http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing/celestial-objects-to-watch/observing-iridium-flares/
) It is basically like someone holding a large mirror, hundreds of miles away and reflecting the sun back at you for a few seconds. Cindy doesn't understand why I like to watch satellites go by but it fascinates me. Probably some genetic abnormality.
Usually I see them after it gets dark, but this time it was very light outside.
I have 2 apps on my tablet: ISS Detector and Heavens Above. They do the same thing but with different sets of features.
