Ringling Bros Circus comes through town at the end of the month.  Is a 3 year old too young to take?

Decent tickets (seating wise) can be had for $30+ ticketmaster rape charges.

I don't think so.  Grace loved the circus at 3.
I'm 200% fit.

I took her to a movie a few weeks ago (Kung Fu Panda) and only lasted about 45 minutes before she wanted to go home.  I don't want a repeat of that, though since the circus is live action I think the chances are lowered.  I'm more worried about her getting scared by everything.

We tried to take her to a movie at that age and it didn't work but the circus did.

There was one thing that scared the girls last year and it was an inflatable dragon but that was gone this year.  Nothing scary at all that I can think of.

why don't you just call the circus directly? or is it only through ticketmaster?
Parent By adamswims (FAT, ICE CREAM EATING FUCKER!) [us] Date 2008-07-22 10:45 AM
only through ticketmaster unless I get them secondhand.

I think I was right around that age when I first went to a circus.  We got home, and I tried to carry the cat around on my shoulders like the big cat d00ds.

Now, you won't catch me at a circus.  I think they're horrible, but I don't like zoos either.
More fun than a bag of rabid monkeys.

Depends on the kid, my niece was terrified of the clowns at that age.

eh. I'd say a 3-year-old could take it or leave it; the zoo would be just as exciting. Just my opinion. If it's something you're thinking will be a one-time thing, I'd wait.
I'll do what I want!

I'd love to go to the zoo.  Maybe when it is cooler in the fall I'll take a day off during the week and do that.  It's too hot to go now.

Don't sit real close or the clowns will come and terrorize you!

at three years of age I went to the circus and saw a clown midget. 40 years later I am still scared.

We took N and E when they were probably 5yo....they spent the whole time asking for ballons, popcorn, cotton candy and glo sticks and various circus appearing souveniers which were like $10+ each:cry:I think it was neat as a one time thing but we are in no hurry to do that again:laugh:If she wasn't into Kung Fu panda she'll probably get bored at the circus too. I loved Kung Fu Panda though!!!!:laugh:

Not too young, just keep the clowns away.

Not too young, but I'm not sure a 3-year-old would enjoy it that much either, so it might not be worth the $$$.  He probably won't even remember when he's older.

I'm not sure she'll remember it when she is older either but a good moment is a good moment, if it turns out that way.

Yeah but you might just be dealing with a 3-year-old wanting you to buy every thing they try to sell in the aisles at ripoff prices and then crying when you won't buy her something.  Sorry to burst your bubble, but that doesn't sound like a lot of fun to me.

That certainly is a possibility I should take note of.

Just blindfold her until the lights go down and the performers start. Then reapply the blindfold when you leave.

Why not save some money by creating a "home circus"?  :wtf::grin:  You and Mrs. Adamah can apply clown makeup and surprise your girl by stealing into her room and suddently waking her up one Saturday morning with delightful clown antics.  :wtf: :cool:  It would doubtless be a memory that would stay with her a long time.

Nope. My step-son was enthralled when we took him at 3 years.
Hope you have a great time!
